Crisis Intervention

Crisis situations are major emotional events or drastic changes that affects the status of someones current situation.  Most crisis intervention we receive are when something drastic happens such as an overdose, a suicide attempt, or an arrest from law enforcement.  The reality is that almost every family needing crisis intervention panic buttonhelp calls us when something bad happens.  Sadly, about 9 out of 10 families who call us in crisis end up doing nothing because soon after the crisis is over families think the situation will correct itself because they believe the substance abuser will learn from the crisis situation and never drink or drug again.  This is in fact one of the most important times to execute the intervention, when something just happened and the addict or alcoholic is most vulnerable.  Unless something is done quickly it is almost always the case the substance abuser returns to alcohol or drugs to medicate the previous crisis situation because that is all they know how to do.  How long would you want your family to wait in a crisis situation before seeking professional help?  Almost all crisis intervention that we perform are on people who have past trauma that leads to the substance abuse or abnormal behavior.  Not only are the substance abusers struggling in a crisis situation, so are their families who have to sit back and witness the whole thing wondering how to make it better.  Families have to confront the situation and call in crisis intervention counselors who can help families sort out the mess and provide an effective solution.

Crisis Drug Intervention

Nobody calls us because their loved one is on a winning streak and they just wanted to tell us about.  They call us in crisis mode because a major event has happened or is happening.  We tell families all the time, if you do not do a crisis drug intervention on your terms their will be a crisis drug intervention on someone else's terms such as law enforcement or an institution.  Because waiting for a crisis to get better itself is dangerous.  Not to mention it will almost never correct itself and another crisis is sure to come around soon unless action is taken.  Crisis drug intervention is designed to make a decision for all people involved, that includes the person in crisis and the family.  It is rare that rational decisions are made by people in crisis or in times of severe stress.  The point is, crisis drug intervention brings families together with a non emotionally attached professional to help everyone come together on a clear solution on how to handle your loved one needing help.  Families are almost always the only people left that can help their loved one and consult with a professional about crisis drug intervention.

Crisis Alcohol Intervention

Take law enforcement or emergency professionals for example, it is their job and training that keeps them cool and level headed in times of extreme crisis.  What if we did not have people who kept cool in times of crisis?  How many times have you thought "I just can't deal with this right now"?  The reality is most people panic in a crisis situation and become incapable of thinking logically or clearly.  Imagine a loved one addicted to a hard substance like crack, heroin, or meth.  What about an alcoholic who just picked up their second or third DUI and wants you to bail them out?  These things take a major toll on families emotions, health, finances, and sanity.  Are we really capable of handling these crisis situations without a professional crisis alcohol intervention counselor?  The sad truth is most families do try to fix the crisis themselves or think it will get better on its own instead of consulting about crisis alcohol intervention.  Do not wait for your loved one to face a crisis situation that can not be repaired.  Almost no good decisions can come from anyone unless they are in an emotionally stable position to make a decision.
